- Red raspberry seed oil
Red Raspberry seed oil is highly prized for its superior antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and research suggests it may offer broad spectrum UV protection (Oomah et al 2000). A rich source of vitamin E and carotenoids (including provitamin A), this amazing oil is also rich in essential fatty acids, linoleic (omega-6) and alpha-linolenic (omega-3), which are critical in maintaining healthy skin barrier function and reducing moisture loss. Red raspberry oil also contains the rare ellagic acid, which has been shown to protect the skin against collagen breakdown and inflammation relating to UV exposure.

- Blackcurrant seed oil
Blackcurrant seed oil is a rich source of antioxidants and phytosterols and is especially beneficial for devitalised, damaged and ageing skin. It contains an optimal ratio of essential fatty acids and is one of the richest known sources of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an omega-6 fatty acid not commonly found in plant oils. Research shows that applying GLA to the skin can prevent premature ageing and effectively treat various skin conditions, including dry skin, acne, eczema, inflammation and dermatitis.

- Coenzyme Q10
Coenzyme Q10 acts as a powerful antioxidant and increases cellular energy, stimulating cell renewal and protecting against environmental damage. This vitamin-like substance occurs naturally in our skin cells, but levels decline as we age, resulting in impaired collagen and elastin production. Applying coenzyme Q10 directly to the skin has been shown to effectively replenish declining levels.

- Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate (Vitamin C)
Our formula includes tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, an oil-soluble form of vitamin C which has been clinically shown to stimulate collagen synthesis and inhibit the formation of melanin, promoting a more even skin tone. It also acts as a powerful antioxidant, mitigating the damaging effects of UV exposure. Despite popular misconception, the pure form of vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid) is not naturally found in plant oils because it’s a water soluble vitamin. For example, the fruit of the rosehip plant is high in vitamin C, but there is no naturally occurring vitamin C in rosehip oil! Unlike the pure form of vitamin C, tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate will not irritate the skin, and it is very stable when exposed to heat and light. As it is oil soluble, it also has a higher rate of skin penetration.

- Sea buckthorn pulp oil
This oil is cold pressed from the pulp of the sea buckthorn fruit and differs in composition to the more commonly used seed oil. It is an excellent source of carotenoids, including beta-carotene, which the skin converts to vitamin A. These carotenoids give the oil its rich orange colour. The oil extracted from the fruit is an excellent source of the rare palmitoleic acid (omega-7), which is a component of skin lipids and stimulates skin regeneration. This amazing oil has been used to effectively treat dry skin, wounds, burns and scars.

- Collageneer® (Lupinus albus seed extract)
Collageneer® is patented, active ingredient derived from white lupin seeds cultivated using sustainable agricultural practices in France. Once extracted, the lupeol is solubilised in sunflower oil and preserved with natural vitamin E. Collageneer stimulates the synthesis of collagen to increase firmness and elasticity in the skin, helping to remodel the facial contour. In vitro tests showed that lupeol increased production of type 1 collagen by 46% in a 72-hour treatment. In vivo tests showed that 92% of volunteers reported improved firmness of the skin and 72% reported reduced sagging of the facial contour after using Collageneer for 89 days.

- D'Orientine™ S (Date seed extract)
D’Orientine™ S is a patented, plant-derived cosmetic active ingredient extracted from the date palm kernel with clinically proven anti-wrinkle efficacy and free radical scavenging properties. Its unique complex of seven natural compounds work synergistically to delay visible signs of ageing. In a five-week, double-blind clinical study, a cream containing D’Orientine S was applied to the eye area of volunteers aged between 46 and 58 years. Evaluation was performed using silicon replicas to measure total surface area and depth of wrinkles compared to a placebo. Results showed a 60% improvement in skin wrinkles and aspect in the areas treated with D’Orientine S. This ingredient is preservative free and sourced from growers using organic and sustainable farming practices.

- German chamomile flower extract
German chamomile flower extract is renowned for its healing and soothing properties and is shown to be effective in the treatment of skin irritations. Our German chamomile flower extract is not subjected to heat and is very high in the chemical constituent matricin, a powerful anti-inflammatory agent.

- Calendula flower extract
Calendula flower extract is an exceptional moisturiser for sensitive skin, promoting skin healing and reducing inflammation. Scientific studies have shown that extracts of calendula can speed the healing of skin wounds and burns. Calendula extract is a superior skin regenerator and is shown to stimulate collagen synthesis during skin healing.

- Vitamin E
Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin that has anti-inflammatory properties and acts as an antioxidant to help protect skin from UV-induced damage. Vitamin E has been shown to work in synergy with vitamin C to protect the skin against UV damage, meaning that when used together, they have a greater effectiveness than either vitamin alone. The base oils in this formula are naturally high in vitamin E, and we have also added a naturally derived blend of d-alpha, d-beta, d-gamma and d-delta tocopherols.

- Grapeseed oil
Our cold pressed grapeseed oil makes a wonderful addition to the base oils in this formula. With its high levels of linoleic acid (omega-6) and powerful antioxidants, it boosts skin hydration and protection against environmental aggressors. This lightweight oil is suitable for sensitive, oily and acne-prone skin and is easily absorbed, leaving skin satiny smooth but never greasy.

- Essential oils of Roman chamomile, lavender, cedarwood, cananga, rose geranium and sandalwood
We have chosen this blend of pure essential oils for its uplifting and calming effects on the mind, its skin soothing and balancing properties and its beautiful aroma.

- Caprylic Capric Triglycerides
Caprylic capric triglycerides are a specialised esterification of coconut oil resulting in only caprylic and capric fatty acids. Some of our botanical extracts are extracted into this base. An excellent anti-bacterial agent and moisturiser for sensitive skin, these fatty acids penetrate quickly and act as a dispersing agent, enhancing the delivery of active ingredients. They also enhance the texture of our formula, making it light but luxurious.

- Bisabolol
Bisabolol, also known as alpha-bisabolol or levomenol, is the primary component of the essential oil extracted from chamomile. It contains natural anti-inflammatory, anti-irritant and anti-microbial properties. It is an excellent moisturiser, prevents the breakdown of collagen and also increases the skin penetration of other beneficial ingredients in the formula. Don’t be fooled into thinking this powerful ingredient isn’t working it’s magic because it appears last on the ingredient list! Bisabolol is a highly concentrated and active ingredient that is effective when included as a small percentage of the formula.
